REVIEW - Kristin Hannah's The Nightingale

Hannah at her finest.  In 1939 France, a war is brewing, Vianne Mauriac says goodbye to her husband and rebellious Isabelle is thrown out of yet another The Nightingale, we meet two sisters, prep school.  The Nightingale tells a story we don't usually hear, that of those who were left behind during the war, those who worked behind the scenes.  In order for Vianne to keep her home that has been in her family for decades, she must house German soldiers.  Vianne will make one impossible choice after another just to keep her family alive. Isabelle, when betrayed by someone she believes she loves, joins the Resistance.  She spends all of her time risking her life to save others.

The Nightingale tells the story of two sisters who at first appear to be very different but in the end are very much alike.

Loved it from start to finish.  I have been a huge fan of Hannah's for several years now and this might just be my favorite yet.  Well done!
