Amy Gail Hansen's The Butterfly Sister - Not Too Shabby

The Butterfly SisterThe Butterfly Sister by Amy Gail Hansen
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I received this book from the publisher. I noticed that this book did not necessarily get a lot of good reviews, however, I did not think it was that bad. It held my interest from start to finish. In The Butterfly Sister, we follow Ruby a year after a suicide attempt and the loss of her father. Ruby had a lot going for her, almost finished with a college degree, good grades when she is taken advantage of by a professor on campus. Ruby believes Mark loves her and then Mark tells her he needs a break. Ruby's world comes unraveling at this point. Ruby attempts suicide and fails. She drops out of college and moves to Chicago. Ruby struggles with the day-to-day life she now lives. One day a strange delivery appears at her doorstep, a piece of luggage she borrowed from a friend and forgot to take the name tag off. When Ruby attempts to locate her friend she finds out her friend is missing. Ruby then takes us on an adventure of returning to the college she left, hoping to find out what happened to her friend.
