Karen White's The Sound of Glass

The Sound of Glass takes us on a journey of two women, Merritt and her stepmother, Loralee.  Merritt learns two years after her husband's unexpected death that she has inherited his family home and Merritt decides to leave her life behind to start fresh in this house.  Upon Merritt's arrival, she is greeted by her stepmother Loralee and her brother Owen.  Loralee tells Merritt she is out of money and has nowhere to stay and wants to stay with Merritt until she gets back on her feet.  That really isn't her plan.  These two women develop a relationship no one sees coming. Merritt meets her husband's younger brother and finds he is nothing like her husband Cal.  Merritt finds a new life and gets to start fresh along with discovering long-hidden secrets within this old southern home.

Overall a good read.  I enjoyed the southern charm of the old home and the characters in this story.
