James Patterson Supports the Indie Bookstores

James Patterson has been a long time advocate of the indie bookstores, and will be donating $1 million next year to independent bookstores. Patterson is known for supporting reading, books and education. The only requirement for the bookstore is that it has a children's section and is "viable." Patterson has also given $1.5 million in scholarships to students working towards teaching degrees.
