The Shuddering by Ania AhlbornMy rating: 5 of 5 stars
Gee, I don't know where to start with this review. I received this copy from Netgalley and held onto it, not really remembering what it was about. I decided to give it a whirl the other day and -HOLY SMOKES!!! Where has Ania Ahlborn been my whole life! I could not put this book down. I read this in just a couple days (I work full-time, go to school full-time and have three kids) which is a real feat for me :) Anyway, throughout The Shuddering, we follow Ryan, his twin sister Jane and their closest friends as they embark on one final trip to their father's cabin (mansion) in the woods. People start disappearing as they are outside in the snow gathering wood, getting into cars, searching for missing people. As members of Ryan and Jane's group start to disappear they fear for the worst. They are snowed in with no way out and five miles to the closest highway! I was constantly wondering what was going to happen next when I wasn't reading this. I finished it yesterday and I am still thinking about it. I am definitely going to be adding Ania Ahlborn's books to my must read immediately list.
